some quick notes about my lesson plan, to be fleshed out later
3:30 – 3:40
Snack & Chat
3:40 – 3:50
Watch something?
Talk about distance – how far can Robots go?
Look at the BeeBot, how far can it go?
3:50 – 4:00 / 4:00 – 4:10 / 4:10 – 4:20
Once again we divide the kids up into three groups of 5, 5 & 6
Today’s three activities are:
1. BeeBots – How far can they go?
The BeeBots group is measuring how far the BeeBots can go with a ruler. And then we are creating a tape path for it to follow.
2. Explore the Red Fish
Have free time on the computers to explore the Red Fish aquarium – there are no right or wrong ways to play, and children can explore everything they want to.
3. Robot Arts & Crafts
Today we also have an Arts & Crafts activity to make our own robot (many of the boys have been very eager to make one!). I’ve got styrofoam packing shapes, coloured paper, glue and markers for the kids to get creative in making their own more 3D robot image.
I hope the boys aren’t too disappointed that it’s not a real robot yet!
4:20 – 4:30
Watched a CeeBeebies Little Robots story The Show Must Go On.
