Lesson 30: Agricultural Machines & Robots

Snack & Chat

The Year One class has been learning about plants – how they grow, and what they need to grow. When we plant things in our own garden, we use our hands and a number of small tools, like a spade.

But when farmers grow things in large fields, they often use big machines to help them. Can you think of any?

Do you remember growing potatoes last year? If you had a whole field of them, then you might find this machine handy:

Lesson 29: Building Castles

Snack & Chat

A few weeks ago, the Form One class was learning about Castles and the names of all of their parts. It was pretty hard to build castles in the Middle Ages, because they didn’t have any of the machines that we have now!

But they did actually invent some pretty cool machines of their own to make the work easier. Take a close look at this picture and tell me if you can see what they are doing.

Today we’re going to start with a Castle Building game, together with Mike the Knight.

When you’re done playing this game, you can play the other Mike the Knight Games, or explore all of the Treehouse Games.

If like puzzles and want to do something a bit more challenging – how about helping the Tiny King find out who stole the cake from his castle?
